Civil Unrest

So I had to do an illustration for a short story featured in a magazine. The gist is this- a man returns to his home after the American Civil War, being a Union solider, he runs across a man who claims he is a Rebel and wishes to fight. He tries to avoid the confrontation, but the Rebel pulls out a gun and in the end, the man kills this stranger in self-defense. He later discovers that the man's wife is from his hometown and he visits her to deliver the bad news (Oops, shot your husband, he sucked). He sees that she is living alone and has no help on the farm and feeling guilty he offers to help. A month later finds them rolling around in the sack. Eventually, a Union solider appears, enraged and brandishing a gun, claiming he is the Rebel's brother. Despite the fact that the brothers fought on the opposite sides of the war, the Union brother can't forgive this new man living in his brother's house and shoots him dead.
